Meet Deesha

Deesha Dyer is an award-winning author and expert.

Deesha Dyer is a community-rooted strategist, speaker, author, and unapologetic doer.

She went from being a 31-year-old community college student to landing a coveted internship at the Obama White House—and later served as White House Social Secretary for President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. Her journey is proof that it’s never too late to rewrite your story. Today, Deesha is the founder of Hook & Fasten, a social impact agency that turns corporate resources into community action. She’s also the author of Undiplomatic, a deeply personal roadmap for anyone navigating ambition, authenticity, and the myth of professionalism.

Close-up of Deesha Dyer speaking with authenticity

For those who got in trouble for talking too much in school and then turned out to be leaders, activists and role models of our communities, this space is for you. For those of us who are still getting comfortable accepting that we dope ass people that have been duped by a society telling us all the things we are not, this space is for you.
